By signing below, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

Assumption of Risk

I understand that participating in an STL Dark History Walking Tour involves walking on public sidewalks, streets, parks, and other public areas. I understand that these areas may include uneven pavement, curbs, stairs, traffic, construction, weather conditions, and other hazards that could result in injury.

I voluntarily choose to participate and accept all risks associated with the tour.

Health and Physical Ability

I certify that I am physically able to participate in this walking tour. I understand that I am responsible for monitoring my own physical condition and may leave the tour at any time if I feel unable to continue.

Mature Content and Age Requirement

I understand that STL Dark History Walking Tours feature documented stories of crime, violence, death, disasters, and other unsettling historical events. These tours are intended for adults and may include graphic or disturbing subject matter that some participants may find upsetting.

I certify that I am at least 18 years of age.

Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless Rachel Woodall, STL Dark History Tours & Events, and any affiliated venues, businesses, parks, property owners, employees, volunteers, or representatives from any claims, demands, damages, losses, injuries, or liabilities arising out of or relating to my participation in the tour, including personal injury, illness, property damage, or loss, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.

I understand that STL Dark History Tours & Events is an independent business and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the parks, businesses, breweries, restaurants, bars, event spaces, or other locations where tours begin, end, or take place.

Personal Property

I understand that I am responsible for my own personal belongings during the tour. STL Dark History Tours & Events is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.

Weather

I understand that walking tours are generally held rain or shine unless conditions are determined to be unsafe. If a tour is canceled due to unsafe weather, I will be offered the option to reschedule or receive a refund in accordance with STL Dark History's cancellation policy.

Photography

I understand that photographs and/or video may be taken during the tour for promotional purposes. By participating, I grant STL Dark History Tours & Events permission to use photographs or video in which I may appear for marketing, social media, or promotional materials unless I notify Rachel Woodall before the tour begins that I do not wish to be photographed.

Participant Responsibilities

I agree to:

  • Follow all instructions provided by the tour guide.

  • Obey all traffic signals and pedestrian laws.

  • Stay with the group whenever possible.

  • Respect public and private property.

  • Conduct myself in a respectful manner toward the guide, fellow participants, and members of the public.

I understand that participants who engage in unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate behavior may be asked to leave the tour without a refund.

Acknowledgment

I have carefully read this Liability Waiver and Release, fully understand its contents, and voluntarily agree to its terms. I understand that by signing this document, I am waiving certain legal rights.
